Communion is a memorial act of worship which Jesus gave His followers. It involves the sharing of bread (body) and wine (blood) which remind us of His redeeming sacrifice for us on the cross. It is one of two ordinances or sacraments instituted by Christ to be observed by His church until He returns, baptism being the other.
