Happy, hopeful Sunday morning to you, precious saints of God. Our sovereign Lord is perfectly in control. His plan for America and the world in these chaotic times is His to unfold. If we keep our eyes on Him and refuse to be pulled off our message of life in Christ through the gospel, we will flow in God’s unfolding plan. Continue to look for more of His fullness in your life.
I am writing this last Friday for today. Something is happening right now that is important, even essential, to the revival of the Church in this post-election season. A number of prominent, well published prophetic voices are honestly, humbly apologizing for the errors they have made in getting on the bandwagon in predicting the outcome of the presidential election. For example, you can check out such re-assessments on the Charisma News Daily website at the following URL: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/FMfcgxwKkRFxjfndPmfpHCBppGSXbdGX
Some prophets got it wrong, obviously. Acknowledging their error, some are asking for forgiveness from the faithful who have followed their blogs. Some are praying that their mishandling of their prophetic gifting will not result in people losing trust, discounting the legitimate, biblically-tested prophecies which God will continue to give as a gift to His people.
I believe this is a healthy thing to have happened to the church. It is a needed corrective. God wants to draw our eyes away from secular solutions, and to refocus our hope and prayers on the coming kingdom of Christ. Yes, the world seems to be growing darker, just as the Word of God predicted. Jesus instructed His followers, “Now when these things begin to take place, straighten up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” Luke 21:28 ESV
We are entering a time of cleansing, of purification of Christ’s Bride, the Church. An awakening remnant of believers are going to become radiant, shining brighter in the darkness. Greater ministry effectiveness will come at a greater cost. Let’s pay it gladly, honoring our crucified, risen Redeemer.
The more of His fullness we experience, the more we will radiate to the world the transforming love of God. Ephesians 3:19-21. Let’s turn our focus, energy, and passion toward the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ. 2 Corinthians 11:3b
As you may be able to interact with fellow believers at church today, encourage them to join you in looking up with hope. Seek the Lord in a deeper way. The promise is that if we will seek Him, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Believe this promise and press in, look up, and celebrate God’s unmistakable presence, sufficient power, and unfolding plan. He is totally competent to fulfill His purposes in our hearts, churches, nation, and world. “Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Come!” May Your kingdom come both immediately and ultimately.
