This is a departure from my ordinary devotional format. But read on, and please find some time to click on the URLs for a fascinating explanation of how God hard-wired us for relationship with Him and with one another.

Let’s start with a benediction. Numbers 6:24-27. 24 “’The Lord bless you, and keep you; 25 The Lord make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The Lord lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.' 27 So they shall invoke My name on the sons of Israel, and I then will bless them."

When God lifts up His countenance on us, we are able to come face to face with His in all His love and joy. There is a parallel value to “tuning in” to the faces of people we meet to find true bonding and love, which opens both us and them to a deep work of the Holy Spirit within.

That will make sense as you listen to the four-part interview that Dr. Tim Johns had with Jeff Newburn regarding his book The Other Half of Church.

Tim Johns is a dear colleague of mine who is pursuing a relationally healthy model of church in groups of God’s children who are committed to loving each other authentically in order to experience the fullness of God’s intention for His spiritual family. He calls his unique ministry “ROCK Tribe.” It is based out of Laramie, Wyoming.

He is leading his flock in what is called a “Daniel Fast.” Each day, Tim touches base with his folks by email. I saw his stuff come up in my inbox and clicked on this 14-minute interview segment. Wow. I was drawn in. I commented back to Dr. Johns immediately, reconnecting our fellowship. He gave me permission to share the YouTube videos below. Viewing them is worth the time. You may wish to mark this blog and view them one at a time. Enjoy.

May the Lord lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace and encouragement! May His hesed love enfold you, more and more. May you find others of His family with whom you may give away His love freely and receive it in a way that transforms you into the likeness of Christ Jesus. Amen.
